Speaker Agreement

This Speaker Agreement formalizes arrangements between Author Nation and [Speaker’s Name] regarding our 2024 conference at the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, November 11-15, 2024.

Scope of Agreement:

Author Nation will be recording all presentations at the 2024 conference (the “Event”). This agreement (the “Agreement”) outlines the terms concerning your participation at the Event. In consideration for the platform provided to you, you agree that:

1. Content Creation and Ownership: You affirm that you have created your own presentation and that the materials used are either owned by you or appropriately licensed for use. You will advise Author Nation in writing of all third-party material contained in the Presentation (and provide copies of licenses or permissions securing all necessary rights). You confirm that the material has not been presented in the last 180 days at an author or publishing-focused conference.
2. Final Outline Submission: To ensure a cohesive and well-organized conference experience, you must submit a final outline of your presentation to Author Nation by October 1, 2024.
3. No Selling or Solicitation: You agree that your presentation will not involve selling products or services or soliciting attendees. The focus should be on providing educational, informative, and engaging content. In accordance with the Author Nation Presentation Guidelines.
4. Grant of Rights: You grant Author Nation the right to record, stream, film, photograph, and distribute your presentation at the Event (the “Presentation”). This includes the right to edit, create derivative works from, and/or otherwise use the Presentation, in whole or in part, in any and all media, including the ability to translate your Presentation into any language. This grant is not exclusive to Author Nation and does not prohibit you from using your Presentation in other venues or formats.
5. Personal Information: You consent to have your Presentation published and distributed, and grant full consent to Author Nation to process, manage, store, and transmit personal information collected from your Presentation, including supporting information such as your name, voice, photograph, likeness, and biographical data to third parties for permitted use.
6. Compensation and Benefits: In consideration of your participation, Author Nation offers the following:
   • One (1) General Conference Admission, including access to vendor day, educational panels, and sessions, and the reader keynote on Thursday.
   • Six (6) Nights in a Standard King or Two Queen Room at the Horseshoe, including tax and resort fee.
   • Sponsorship perks include your logo on our website and a vendor table at RAVE.
   • One 250-word listing in the Official Author Nation Conference Directory.
   • A 1099 will be issued for the value of the ticket, hotel, and RAVE table.
7. Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to appear at the conference, you agree to provide Author Nation with as much advance notice as possible. In such an event, you waive the above-named considerations. If Author Nation is unable to reach you for a consecutive 30 days using the contact methods provided below, Author Nation reserves the right to cancel this agreement.
8. Legal Claims: If any third-party claims arise stating the use of the Presentation violates their rights, you agree to cooperate fully with Author Nation to defend against or respond to such claim and provide written evidence of ownership of any portion of your Presentation if required.
9. Entire Agreement: This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the parties and may not be modified except in writing signed by both parties. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which the Event is held. If you are under the age of 18, a signature from your parent/guardian is required.
